“Twenty two vets commit suicide every day; if we can save just one, it will all be worth it.”

Mission

Our mission at Rising Star Stables is to help people be able to live a normal life with the help of our horses. We have a peaceful setting where people can come to decompress. We are not an animal rescue, we are a people rescue.

Current Needs

We need your help! We are currently raising funds for an indoor arena.  We want to be able to keep serving our clients through the cold Wisconsin winter.  Our clients have come a long way and we want to make sure that we keep having a reason for them to get out of bed in the morning.  For some clients, this is the only thing they have to look forward to.  Please open your hearts and help them to keep healing.

Why We Do What We Do

Using horses helps the client to open up and connect to something. They have shut down feelingsoscar-and-aj-2 to be able to survive. They will learn to trust, communicate and feel emotions again, regaining a purposeful life. On the ground, people and horses work together through daily issues to help our clients be able to live a normal life.  You cannot lie to a horse.  They know how you are feeling and do not judge you. This can help clients’ walls come down, start to open up, and start to trust again.

Humanitarian Social Innovations & Star Light Equine Assisted Therapy

Our Partnership

Founder Amy Olson first contacted Humanitarian Social Innovations in Spring of 2016 with the idea of repositioning her then for-profit riding stable as the impact-oriented stable it is today.  Amy’s passion is helping others with her beautiful horses.  She worked over the summer to build a nonprofit organization that was well-qualified for fiscal sponsorship in HSI’s Certified Grantee:  GO for Impact! program, which the newly-formed Rising Star Stables Starlight Equine Assisted Therapy entered in October of 2016.

Humanitarian Social Innovations (46-4779591) treats funds received for the purpose of this project as restricted under the charitable trust doctrine.  All funds, minus administrative fees, are dedicated to the purpose of this project and will not be used to pay the expenses of another.
